MID-MARKET MANUFACTURING CASE STUDY

Integre Systems provided a solution for a mid-market manufacturing company to address its report performance and report development backlog issues. The customer’s IT team had been using Noetix and Oracle Reports to deliver reports to business users. These reports were running directly against the production Oracle E-Business Suite instance during the business day. This negatively impacted the performance of Oracle E-Business Suite and user productivity throughout the company. Business users had to wait a long time for their reports to refresh. Report requests were backlogged because each request required IT to create or modify a Noetix view and then create or modify a report.

Integre Systems recommended an alternative strategy that entailed implementing the SAP BusinessObjects Sales Rapid Mart for Oracle E-Business Suite, SAP BusinessObjects Data Integrator, SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise, and SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence.

Integre Systems installed, configured, and got the base solution up and running within weeks. The customer had significantly customized Oracle E-Business Suite to accommodate a unique business process. Integre Systems designed and implemented a custom data mart for this business process by extending some of the dimensions of the Sales Rapid Mart for Oracle E-Business Suite and adding some new dimensions, a fact table, and some aggregate fact tables.

These integrated data marts fulfilled the reporting needs of the Sales, Marketing, and Finance Departments. Business users develop reports using SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence and use SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise to schedule reports to run during off-peak hours.

This strategy provides a solution that improves performance of Oracle E-Business Suite, improves performance of the reports, enables business users to create their own reports, and gets IT out of the business of report creation and maintenance.

Government Case Study

Integre Systems helped a large government client replace its manual reporting process with an automated system using SAP BusinessObjects Data Integrator, SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise, SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence, and SAP BusinessObjects Dashboard Manager. The client estimates that this reduced the cycle time for creating the report by more than 80 percent – from 5 days to less than 1 day. This automation significantly increased the accuracy of the report by eliminating manual process steps and freed up IT resources, making them available for other projects. The system enables users to create ad hoc reports so reports are no longer backlogged in the IT group.
